Journalism, Photography, Web Design, Print and Motion Graphics is becoming more and more mainstream! Every 15 year old is on MySpace, uploading their pictures to Flicker or  watching movies on YouTube, it is the democratization of the media.

People are turning to blogs for their news, podcasts and video are massive, and we have social spheres of billions of people throughout the internet… What this means is that we can have a huge impact just by utilizing the easy to use, rapidly cheaper technology at our finger tips to have a huge impact.

It also means that we need to be very practical, NOW!

How many times have you been moved to tears by a movie, captivated by a photograph or awestruck by the beauty of the world. Ever been disgusted by poverty, had your heart broken by injustice or realised that you need to do something to make a difference? Our heart breaks and soars as we are greeted by the onslaught of imagery, sights and sounds that bombard us every waking hour.

As Christians, we can identify with the pain of the situation as well as offer a unique expression and fresh perspective on all of these things that toss us to and fro on a minute by minute basis. We can tap into the heart of God for a generation and prepare the hearts of the next generation for a God who is not apathetic or cast aside like last years fashion… but instead is as engaged and relevant as ever.

We can do this through being real, demonstrating the love of God through our hands, our feet our voices and also what is at the fingertips of every young person alive, the opportunity to be impassioned by something worthwhile and with the freshness of a language they can understand and a context they can grasp!

This is confrontational and relevant,  as much in the world as not of it. To do this we need to engage with God and man so that the two blend into an expression of creativity that is constantly changing and yet has it’s feet firmly grounded in Biblical thinking and the principles of life…
